TOP 10 YUGIOH CARDS - duel monsters

Japanese gaming company Konami began publishing the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 1999 so fans could play the game the characters play within the anime and manga franchise. Like other collectible card games, players need to build decks of cards from starter packs and boosters to best their opponents. It's difficult to make a list of which cards are "best" in a collectible card game, because cards function as part of an overall strategy. However, many Yu-Gi-Oh! players hold that these are some of the most powerful cards in the game.

Blue-Eyes White Dragon
Blue-Eyes White DragonThe Blue-Eyes White Dragon is a Level 8 Monster Card. With an attack of 3,000, it has tremendous destructive power. Some duelists recommend combining it with Justi-Break, a Trap Card that destroys all non-Normal monsters on the field when activated. Justi-Break keeps the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, a Normal monster, safe.

Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord
Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden LordThis Level 10 Monster Card must be Special Summoned, meaning a duelist must return all monsters in their Graveyard into their Deck. Each time Exodius attacks, the player sends a monster from their Deck or their hand to the Graveyard, boosting Exodius' Attack by 1,000. As this continues, Exodius can become incredibly powerful and readily win the game for a canny player. If five "Forbidden One" cards are put into a player's Graveyard during play, Exodius can immediately win the duel for that player.

3
Winged Dragon of Ra
Winged Dragon of RaThe Winged Dragon of Ra is a Level 10 Monster Card with an Attack score that depends on how many Life Points the player pays into the card during the summoning. If the player's willing to risk it, they can easily buff the Winged Dragon of Ra to become a fearsome opponent.

4
Raigeki
RaigekiRaigeki is a Spell Card from the First Edition of the game which allows a player to immediately destroy all of the monsters that their opponent controls. This can be very handy when an opponent has a playing field full of powerful monsters.

5
Slifer the Sky Dragon
Slifer the Sky DragonSlifer is a Level 10 Monster Card with an Attack that depends on the number of cards in the player's hand. A duelist who plays Slifer when they've been saving up many cards in their hand will end up with a powerful ally during a duel.

6
Obelisk the Tormentor
Obelisk the TormentorObelisk is a Level 10 Monster that was so powerful in its original version, that some versions of the card were banned from tournament play - so check to be sure what you're buying! Obelisk cannot be targeted by Spells, card effects, or Traps. By Tributing two monsters while Obelisk is in play, a player can destroy all of an opponent's monsters.

7
Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the BeginningThis Level 8 Monster can banish other monster cards on the field in lieu of attacking. When dealing damage, if it destroys another Monster card, it can attack again on a different target. While the Black Luster Soldier can't match many of the other cards on this list for sheer destructive power, these two facts mean that when used carefully, it's a dangerous addition to any duelist's deck.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
8
5-Headed Dragon
5-Headed DragonThis Level 12 Monster requires a special kind of summon called a Fusion Summon. It cannot be destroyed in battle by Dark, Water, Earth, Wind, or Fire -type monsters. That, combined with its Attack of 5,000, makes the 5-Headed Dragon a lethal opponent.

9
Exodia the Forbidden One
Exodia the Forbidden OneNot to be mistaken for Exodius, Exodia isn't much to look at on its own - it's a Monster Card with only 1000 Attack. But it combines with other Forbidden One cards in a player's hand. When the player has all a full set of Forbidden One cards, including Exodia, they've won the duel.

10
Dragon Master Knight
Dragon Master KnightThis Level 12 Monster Card increases its Attack (already a formidable 5,000) by 500 for every face-up Dragon-type card the player controls. In a cleverly constructed deck, the Dragon Master Knight can swiftly become very formidable.
